Tomato cage deco mesh Christmas tree

Tomato cage deco mesh Christmas tree

Hey guys its Michelle with Four Seasons of
Happiness so we are going to do another tutorial today I told you we were going to make a Christmas
tree out of our deco mesh and an upside down um tomato cage. so I am sure you have seen
these before on youtube or um else where but we are going to walk you through my version
of my Christmas tree. so what I have done is I started by doing
pipe cleaners um around on my where the long meet the circular I did a pipe cleaner and
this is going to help me to adhere thee um deco mesh to the tomato cage. And this is up top I am making like a Teepee
out of the top um so we can so its easier to decorate um and what I did was I just did
pipe cleaner but I am also going to hot glue it. I am going to hot glue the pipe cleaner to
the metal so that will hold that in place. and what I have started is I have taken my
deco mesh and I have taken the end and I have folded it in half and where is my half and
I have scrunched it together and I have tied it here, here , here and at the bottom. and
I have got I went bigger with my balls my puffy deco mesh as I went down because we
want the tree to be fatter at the bottom then it is at the top. We have the natural look of the cage that
gets bigger at the bottom but its cuter when you do the deco mesh as well. So again I am going to start at this pin and
just one twist, and then I am going to do my first bunch and I just go ahead and grab
it and pull it up like this and I try to get it about the same as the other one which we
are going to put a lot more on so your not going to really see this anyways so there
is my other bunch and I am going to do the same thing for this one and I am going to
go a little bit bigger for this bunch and I going to give it one twist and then we are
going to go pretty big at the bottom for the bottom twist. We are going to use a couple different colors
and ill show you through out the video what I am going to do um I am going to try to do
a couple different things so we are just going to play with it as we go. Like I have said in other tutorials though
that’s the fun of creating is you can play as you go and I just cut at the bottom here
and then I start my new strand over here. This is our base so now we are going to take
ten to twelve inch lengths and half of your so ten by ten to twelve and your going to
fold it in half and scrunch it in the middle and your going to add these to your twists
so let me come around the front here you are going to add these to your twists and I am
going to do dark green for now so you can see
one in each twist we are going to go around doing that ill do two or three thick in each
twist um and then we will be back to see what the next step is alright so I’m kind of close
to you but I want you to see what I am doing here um remember how we did the sprigs on
each line coming down and we have three of those and then I put two per tie and then
what I did now was I went down in between the two poles and I put another one and I
don’t like how they slide around so I took my and I went down here and I went down here
and now I am going to do one more right in this opening right here ok so I am going to
show you because there is nothing to really bind it so those pipe cleaners can slide side
to side and I don’t want that to happen so I am going to take my pipe cleaner and I am
going to fold it in half I am going to take my glue gun and right in the middle of these
two I am going to put a little dollop of glue and then I am going to take my pipe cleaner
and I am going to tie it into the glue ok so that pipe cleaner isn’t going to slide
around on that metal because that glue is going to adhere to it to make it stick so
I am going to do that all the way down so I have more spots to tie the deco mesh to
make this a full Christmas tree we are going to do it all the way down I just get it ready
fold the pipe cleaner in half get it ready put a little dollop of glue and then just
twist it right on that spot of the glue and last one down here. alright and now we are going to do the same
thing we are going to run our deco mesh and I am using the light green for the base I
am just going to trim this trim this uneven edge off alright so I am going to open it
up stick it in and pull it as tight as I can get it with one twist alright so we are back
and I am going to show you what I have been working on I have been kind of playing around
with the new way this time and I think its turned out kind of cute so I went ahead and
finished all my up and down light greens then I tied in two per tie in every single tie
besides the bottom I did not do the bottom of the tree and now I am just going around
to the top ties the very top ties and I am taking my original design and corner to corner
scrunch in the middle and then I am let me turn this around so you can see it I am taking
that and I am tying it up because I like to pay attention to not getting up here big I
want it to slowly go up like its suppose to and sometimes that can be hard with deco mesh
so now I have some precut ribbon and I am just going to show you how this fills in with
the ribbon coming on board. I have red silky ribbon with reindeer on it
I have burlap red with a reindeer on it I have some gold with red dots that’s one inch
and these two are two inch and then maybe we will do this one thee ah snowflake its
not burlap its tan but its ribbon with sparkle snowflakes so lets try these ones and see
how that turns out that’s one ribbon I am going to continue going
around filling in the ribbon then we will address the top when we are done alright guys
so this is our Christmas tree so what I did after I got my ribbon attached is I went through
and I added in the green ribbons so like I said on the top I added in those green deco
mesh that we went corner to corner this is just a scrap corner to corner then I grab
it in the middle and I scrunch it up and then I twist it in like this and what I did at
the top was I just twisted it up so you can see there is going to be a point here but
it is also going to give us that fill in effect so I tied it in to those existing ties up
here so we got the point after that um like I said I added in this green ribbon to tie
the top into the bottom and I just did it sporadically so I put one in every light colored
not in the red but in the light because I was going to do my Christmas ornaments in
my reds if that makes any sense and then I made two bows I did put one in the front and
on the back just because if it is in the middle of the room I don’t want the back to look
like its bare so I made one in the front and one in the back and its just cream with gold
and its got some words on it um besides that I just twisted my pipe cleaners and stuck
them behind and added some ah Christmas ornaments sporadically and ill post pictures of that
but it turned out pretty good let me get this out of the way and ill spin it for ya and
again this is my version so you guys can come up with your own or tweak it the way you want
um I still have to do a little bit more fluffing but you can see it turned out pretty cute
so I wont sell these ones on etsy but I will bring them to my upcoming shows that are coming
up for the craft shows and to the locals of course these are too big and its impossible
to ship these but its a cute thing for you guys to be able to make at home so I hope
that you enjoyed yourself I will post pictures and this tutorial on my blog you can find
it here like below ah subscribe to my channel if you want to know when I am posting new
tutorials um and don’t forget to stop by the blog www.fourseasonsofhappiness.com I am Michelle
