Deloitte Greenhouse customer story – Making an impact with digital facilitation and Span™ Workspace

Thank you so much for joining us today, it is our IMPACT Day. As an organization we say one day a year the whole firm is going to dedicate their time and energy and lean into something in the community. We had the Centres for Social Enterprise Development, the Innovation, Science and Economic Development department and then a group of diverse Government of Canada professionals. These are groups that have huge impact in their communities and impact in their kind of in their niches of their domains. We wanted to really as a team, explore this notion of community and the organizations that we work with as a nonprofit as we help to start and scale social enterprises. We’re a new team so we wanted to get together find out more about ourselves about our roles and how we can all work together to ensure SCED success. Today was a great opportunity for all of us to come together, especially around the integration of technology with the deluxe tool set. The way we structured IMPACT Day this year was actually because we had Nureva. So Morgan and I a team of two were able to run three sessions in one day which would not have been possible. Before we had Nureva we actually couldn’t do the kinds of things that we do now, so we would otherwise put paper up on the walls and write on the paper or we would use post-it notes and have to transcribe these post-it notes. You know, I can craft an Nureva session a canvas usually in about 30 minutes, normally it would have taken me days. For us to be able to operate at the speed and the pace that we work at now we couldn’t physically function using paper or post-it notes or the other technologies that exist. When we use the Span software with our clients there is this visceral reaction of being able to touch and interact with the things that you’re working on, that you actually see the joy come out in people. It’s really cool to see. It’s an incredibly malleable system. It can do amazing things. It really supports good design thinking and as we use it more and more we see new ways that we could be evolving our own practice. I thought that the Nureva™ Wall system was amazing. I love it, I want to incorporate it into my work, I want to bring it to our conference and I want to use it as much as I can. One of the really valuable things for me is just the ease at which we could collaborate as a team and rather than using some of the old school paper and pens and sticky notes, here was a way to to make that as easy as possible. Today was the really first opportunity to really interact with it and to see it playing in that multi player kind of an environment, blown away. This is the way to move forward. To actually work with them for a few hours around one of the things that are holding you back, what are the things that are gonna enable you in the future and how can we actually collaborate with your team and work with your team to help nonprofits and charities in the city and I guess globally. That’s a huge win like emotionally and internally feels like a big win for or for us but also feels like a big win for them cause we’re gonna help them do good better.
